A sizeable gray jug. It has an overwhelming presence and neat form and the dingy appearance seen in some spots gives it an even more profound impression. This Jug is said to be from the Basque Country, which straddles France and Spain, and although it could not be determined from the fading engraving and the glazed surface, I think this Jug made it in France around the 19th century. Although it is a jug, the worn glaze on the underside suggests that it may have been used over a fire. I want to preserve this Jug's atmosphere, so I would like to carefully wipe the soot off the entire piece without washing it away before giving it to you. It can be displayed as an object or used as a flower vase with a glass cup filled with water, and I want to give it to someone who likes it.
